I am a basic user of Canon. Prior is the Canon 50 χιλιοστά 1 4, really excellent lens of money. But it is steep open. It should be stopped until at least the F2 is a good contrast and saturation. The focus ring was bad in my opinion.
Instead, 50L, 1 2 was a big dissapointment for me. I expected the same quality image as 35L or 85l at this price.
When I have a Sigma lens that I like it now. Construction was incredible, solid as a tank, and the rubber is very good.
What really opened its performance. The images are crystal clear sound and color rendition.

The world is a zoom, multi-discover plopping down $ 500 Prime 50 χιλιοστά – the third party manufacturer, no less – is just absurd.

This is one of the best portrait lens I have ever used.
I originally bought a new Nikon AF-S version of the lens. While it was nice, I really had a problem, how little seemed bright lights Bokeh. Once you’ve used a Sigma, Nikon sold when I never looked back.
First Evil:
In F / 1 4 This lens is a bit softer than the version of Nikon. If you do not print poster size prints, and the standing leg then it will not find them. About F4-F5. 6 in the razor-sharp.
AB. . . Sigma has a bad reputation in this section. Unlike other lenses I have not yet seen reports of this lens with the same things, but you never know.
Weight. . . It weighs enough, and just over the adoption of Nikon. Both are heavy, but if you’re accustomed to using a lens of this quality feel.
Now, ladies:
build quality is excellent. I regret the firing of rain, snow, or desert.
Bokeh. . . Wow. The first word that comes to mind when I get a picture of this lens is “creamy”. Bokeh is really the best I’ve ever seen. When taking portraits, you want to translate anything in front of the model viewer, this lens does just that. It will change the background, beautiful collage soft.
When comparing Bokeh and Nikon and Sigma lens is very clear who is the winner. Nikon is just so hard the lights (especially at Christmas style) actually interferes with the viewer.
Bokeh reason most people buy the F / 1 4 lenses these days, it will lose money from the worst to Nikon.

After eagerly reading all the advantages and disadvantages of this lens, and to see the FM platform, the late models work best, I ordered individually $ 439, fully ready to return to where it is not good (not a fan of Sigma), but it wants to because 50 is my favorite FL. Rentals in Canon 50L, and 1 4 and 1 8 of Canon 50, for this little test and Sigma is awesome! I was shocked, the images were more of them from the excellent EF 85 1. 8, SHARP open and stopped down, just keep improving, beautiful color and contrast and Bokeh was almost identical from 50L. He showed me pictures of the person and work around some pictures Sigma is arrested as the most beautiful, 50 L with them (granted it was a rental copy). The active all out.
I already sold my EF 50 1. 4 and is likely to sell 1 8, and perhaps too 35L. Focus ring not silky like L’s, like IQ, but this song is a Sigma 50, real sleeper, I see that it is my favorite walk-around. It is equipped with a padded case has a large touch screen, these days you do not get that there is a $ 1800 Canon 85l.
Sigma My position has always changed, it’s a nice honor killer lens, all in all.

Let me first say that I have nothing against the market off-label “from the Sigma lens instead of Canon. I’ve tried two different Sigma 50MM F / 1 4 out, I really liked this lens.
< br /> Positive… I think it is well built. It is heavy and adds a nice balance my Canon 50D. It’s nice to grip the surface, it seems only spot metal or plastic, Sigma added some thin coating on the outside to a little stick and his hands. I would also like to take the size 77 mm filter, mine only 77 mm filter lenses Canon L, so I was able to use these filters on the lens very well.

negative… We must focus much. I mean LOT . shooting in situations where they should be able to use auto focus and not just possible with the two copies I received this lens. About half the pictures I took, maybe more, were left to concentrate. Not only is the focus a bit tiring, or were so badly was nothing I could do in Photoshop even to correct.
tried with auto focus high light conditions (for example, or external places bright interior lighting) to think that maybe this was just the lens hard to focus in low light, and not make a difference. I’ll be back in an objective, but focuses on a very high light conditions, as the whole reason I buy F Prime / 1 4 had to take pictures in low light conditions.
It is interesting that the auto focus, my light is off, to prove that it was locked at the center but the real figure will be inaccurate. At first I thought maybe the camera does not just lock the focus, but it was. I have tried this on a tripod so I was sure that the cause of camera shake sloppy focus. < br />

I ended up sending back The first part Amazon (gotta love their service) and attempted a second copy. Another song has a little rattle, but the focus was way way way worse. I probably 1 / 10 to focus the image. Sigma technology talked about it and said they could fix it, but send me a camera and lens to be calibrated together. At the end I returned the second Sigma, the case for a week and really try to do. I ordered a Canon F-1. 4 ($ 100 cheaper) and never looked back. Canon is lighter, which can be good or bad, in fact, I prefer to pregnancy and Sigma. However, Canon does not sound extraordinary rattling never loses focus.
