  Never Ever: hire, loan or use the Canon 5D Mark II if you do, you should own. It’s so good!

  Fantastic unbelievable picture quality you have to see to believe!
  Great menu, sharper, brighter, easier to read then 40D

  This was the first full-size my camera. Before that I owned and operated 40D, 30D and Rebel XTi. I am a wedding photographer and all sports, so we were able to control 5D Mark II in both conditions.

  Basketball I used to AI Servo, Center Point to focus, but we had to custom settings and enabled AF assist points. It worked like a dream, with an emphasis on faster and more accurately than my 40D never had. While there, FPS is not ideal for sports, if you can lock the principle of concentration, you can achieve amazing images even sports.   I have used and enjoyed well-5D for a few years and found it just yet full-frame camera. Like many people, I was eagerly looking forward to 5D Mark II, and pre-ordered. After using a few weeks, I am pleased to say that this is an excellent update 5D.

  If you are researching this camera, you’ve probably heard of “black dot” problem (especially some of the Dark pixels blown highlights on the right). If you print photos from several feet and the size of several feet, you will never see them. Sure, you get the correct firmware is available, but in the meantime, I have never encountered any problems in actual use.

  The size and control are very comparable to the 5D – you feel very quickly. I’m looking for is fantastic – a bigger, brighter, and a very welcome addition. There are many “under the skin” updates, the largest being 21 1 mega pixels. So great flexibility in shooting, but be prepared for some huge files first! Upgrading processor (DIGIC 4) to keep things moving along is a good rate. I can not comment on HD video capture because I am a bit clumsy with the time and have no direct experience of the photographer. But looking forward to learning. Video capture just the icing on the cake for me – bought the still images.

  There are very few disappointments, like the fact that the battery is designed in a different order can not be rotated with the 5D. Obviously, it is now, but the pattern of convertibility would be nice add-on costs. I also regularly shoot my 40D and the Rebel (and this is converted to IR), so that the greater convertibility, the better.

  In short, this is an excellent machine, and is a welcome addition to any kit. If you already have a 5D and use it a lot, Mark II worth the cost. Packaging is a good price, and the body – 24-105 f / 4 L IS is one of the best available lens to walk. If you do not need, you can get a good price for that used in the market.

  If you are currently working in camera sensor crop, you surprised about what makes you a full size (although it would be prepared to use some of the coin glass of good – if you have a fever L lens, I never want to come back!). Please note that the original 5D is still available, and has a very nice price (and literally steal some instruments used). The original is still an excellent machine, and also should be considered if the budget is limited.

  One last point – RAW files are not compatible with CS3. But the recent update Lightroom, 2 2 () solves this problem. No need to tell CS4 just for that.
