I was one of the first supporters of this lens, and I know that one of the first children to get their hands on and play with it, since I consider this lens, I knew that the winner < ; br />
Let us begin to build a quality, great, okay not completely L-level, but is much better than the old 17-55 f / 2 8 I belong, because it combines both the better to build an equivalent to the average area of the lens Nikon [like VR 16-85], which is good, the zoom and focus rings, two working properly, but also a convincing business is just slight zoom creep between 24-35 I’ve noticed, but not of great concern for
AF-wise, of a very fast performer, a USM probubly faster there, and is very quiet, even the USM is a very soft voice. . softer. . . IS works perfectly and silently and steadily, and advertised, a good stabilization of at least 4 stops, I managed to 1 / 4 of the picture easily to 85 mm for example. . .
Optically, this lens will be impressed, people can criticize the changing nature of the gap, but the direction of a strong light, by 15mm, the distortion is very good [I tested yet less than the 24-105 f / 4L is a complete camera part], and the colors are very nice zing to them, only the bottom is the color deviation is tidge high, but it is also easy to correct, by what I’ve seen, and certainly not as bad as some would make the sound in general, I am very impressed by the optical lens, one of the best lenses I have [and have owned the 24-105 f/4L IS and 17-55 f / 2 8], and my favorite walk-around of the lens never
The only other complaint that was also the price of the hood, Canon continues to be the only manufacturer that will force them to buy $ 45 lens hoods for € 700 – 800 lenses just because they do not L lens. . . A number of annoying to be honest. . but again, I knew it would. .
All nice lens, not mock it until you try:)

This lens is ideal for hiking lens, which covers the 23-135 with 1 6 factor.
Distortion is least, and although they are not bright lens is also sharp handheld pictures.
The disadvantage of this lens is that both sunlight and flash conditions studios chromatic aberration (purple / green edge), is visible in all shots. Allocated is less than the cheap kit lens (and 7D), but 1:1 resolution is chromatic aberration of each image, where dark and bright combination of high contrast.
Canon software that comes with DSLRs do a very good job to eliminate marginal photos, but this means that, unlike the Nikon and image processing to remove the marginal, an additional manual step to do this, Canon is a need for all images, of which more than casual snapshots.

This lens has a central position on the line Canon-up: this is the first complete high quality telephoto lens for APS-C (ie 1 6x) organs harvested. Fortunately, this lens is well qualified for this task. Construction quality is stable and that the focus ring and zoom ring is still the company to proceed smoothly. Image quality, the lens is excellent. The lens is very sharp throughout the zoom until you open it. Color Fidelity is also a strong point of the lens, since it produces a saturated yet natural colors. These distortions are also less than the focal length of the lens. Although it is a barrel distortion wide angle (15mm above), this is simply to avoid superzooms and cover in this region, and it should be noted that, although covering the same lens L (film equivalent 35mm) range may not be much better in this respect. I am sure to give this camera 5 stars!
The only alternative to this lens that I liked was the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f / 2 8, which is another great lens for APS-C cameras. I decided to choose the 15-85mm over 17-55mm lens, simply because it suits my needs better. Through optical lenses to do about the same (ie, both offer excellent picture quality), so this is not taken into account in my decision. Two different lenses only strong suit. 17-55mm with a fixed aperture of 2 8 provides a versatile lens in low light, and submit it to the double portrait of the lens in some cases. On the other hand, 15-85, and variable opening f / 3 5 5. 6 provides greater focal length: 15-85 (or 24-136 35 mm eq.), Thus covering a larger number of subjects in daylight. Since I am going to buy your own portrait lens, and because I was mainly interested in “walk around the lens and get the image quality, 15-85mm seemed more appropriate choice for me. Of course, this decision only helped by the fact that the 15-85mm is also $ 300 cheaper than the 17-55mm. However, the 15-85mm and 17-55mm is it’s a good Walkaround lenses available for Canon crop bodies, and which lens you choose only to dictate your situation.

So I took the lens because I wanted something I could get more spectrum. Overall, this is a good lens. The only problem I had this lens is that it is slower is the variable F3. 5.5, so therefore the internal shots will not come out so sharp. You must use a higher ISO in low light. If you intend to take lots of pictures indoors or in low light, I would probably recommend the 17-55 F2. 8. However, shooting outdoors in daylight, I like the flexibility of this lens. It gives you a very wide-angle, where necessary and give you enough to achieve in most cases. If you are a casual outdoor photographer I would recommend this lens. This is a step-up lens kit lens with T1i. However, the price is a bit high, what you get.

I bought this lens with two lenses on foot, is the second Canon EF-S 17-55 F2. 8 IS USM.
This lens is a good color saturation, sharp image quality and fast autofocus. 85 mm focal length is very useful zoom is something to carry around no more zoom around. I use the lens mainly during the day and 17-55mm F2. 8 is an hour a night in my lens, though I can not stretch the IS and to make good pictures in low light.
When the lens Tamron and Sigma, I would say that Canon is the best way to go if you have a tight budget.
